SIGERSON MORRISON LA
The project consisted of the gut renovation of two adjacent retail spaces to become a flagship showroom, stockroom, and office for cult-status Nolita shoe designers, firmly establishing their presence on the West Coast.
To avoid a complete seismic overhaul on a tight schedule and budget, we removed only 1/3 of the wall between the two original stores, using a continuous teak display/cashwarp credenza to span the former divide. Visual depth is gained by an open stockroom, a terrazzo floor that wraps up to become a prime display wall, and new oversize skylights that wash the interior with southern California light.
